Delegate Comstock Wins McLean Debate

Challenger Murphy makes no mention of jobs and economy and offers no response to her personal tax delinquencies.

McLean, VA - Susan Falconer, Campaign Manager for Delegate Barbara Comstock (R-34) released the following statement about the McLean Debate last night sponsored by the McLean Chamber of Commerce and the McLean Community Center:

"At last night's McLean Debate, Delegate Comstock once again demonstrated why she has been called a 'go-to' person for McLean's business and tech community and how she has also worked tirelessly for the 34th District on human trafficking issues, our school issues and local transportation solutions.

"In contrast, Kathleen Murphy made clear she wants to raise new taxes on us at the federal, state and local level and have a taxpayer funded job, all the while refusing to explain why she's not paying her taxes.  When Ms. Murphy had the opportunity to explain her tax delinquencies in multiple states her reply was "it's not my turn, it's Barbara's."

The Leona Helmsley of Northern Virginia continues to have such contempt for taxpayers and think she's above the law that she won't even answer questions about her tax delinquencies and not registering her business in Fairfax as required by law.  Additional information can be found here: http://taxesfortheebutnotforme.com/

And Murphy actually lied about her record of advocating new taxes, despite having just answered a Loudoun County Chamber survey indicating she supported Counties imposing more taxes on us (http://loudounchamber.org/biz-votes-questionnaire-results---district-34). She denied she said what she wrote on the Loudoun Chamber survey and accused Delegate Comstock of putting it on a website.   So now, not only is she lying about  Barbara's record she's lying about her own surveys she answered just last week.

Last's night debate victory will only make things more clear for the constituents of the 34th District.  As former Dranesville Supervisor Stu Mendelsohn said in a Sun Gazette letter this week: "Since Barbara was elected delegate, I have not been to many meetings or events, small or large, where she is not present and offering her assistance. Barbara has been there whenever a constituent or community group has asked for her help. She has been a tireless worker for all of us, whether it be working with citizens groups to change the state-proposed Georgetown Pike/Route 7 intersection or passing legislation to protect us all from the Lyme disease threat, or getting Dominion Power working for us after the Derecho storm last year."
