Virginia Chamber Recognizes Delegate Comstock With Economic Competitiveness Award and Champion of Free Enterprise Award

McLean, VA- Delegate Comstock (R-34) released the following statement upon receiving the Economic Competitiveness Award, Champion of Free Enterprise Award and an A/100 rating from the Virginia Chamber of Commerce at their Annual Legislative Awards Dinner on Thursday, May 15th:

"I am honored to receive the 'Economic Competitiveness Award' and the "Champion of Free Enterprise Award" for my bill, HB 1220, "Virginia's R&D; Tax Expense Credit" in addition to an A+ rating from the Virginia Chamber of Commerce.  HB 1220 encourages additional research investment in the Commonwealth by strengthening the existing tax credit and increasing the relevance of the credit to a broader set of businesses. This legislation will promote innovation and job creation across Virginia, boost industry sponsored research and collaboration with Virginia's universities and continue to diversify Virginia's economy.

"I'm proud to receive this award for championing policies that foster job growth, increase competition and provide more jobs for the citizens of the Commonwealth. I thank the Virginia Chamber of Commerce for continuing to work with us in the General Assembly to promote a thriving economy in the Commonwealth and keep Virginia a top state for jobs."

"We applaud Barbara's efforts in supporting the principles outlined in Blueprint Virginia. With the support of pro-business legislators like Barbara, we can continue to strengthen Virginia's business climate and maintain Virginia's ranking as the Best State for Business," said Barry DuVal, President and CEO, VA Chamber.
