Status Report:  Thursday, December 16, 2010, 9:00a.m.

WEATHER FOECAST:

NWS Update:

Snowfall accumulations of one to three inches are expected.

Today: Snow. High near 26. South wind between 3 and 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Tonight: A slight chance of snow before 8pm. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 18. Calm wind becoming northwest between 4 and 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 35. Northwest wind between 6 and 10 mph.

Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 19. West wind around 6 mph. Today: Snow. High near 26. Calm wind becoming south around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

DISTRICT SEVERE WEATHER OPERATIONS: 

The Northern Virginia District performed anti-icing operations yesterday and are currently mobilized at a Level 3 disbursing approximately 440 trucks district wide.  This number will increase/decrease as weather conditions warrant.

We will continue to keep you apprised of our mobilization efforts.
